Overview
This study synthesizes research on user experience design for social applications and applies it to the unique challenges of building Nostr clients. The methodology combines established UX research principles with Nostr-specific data analysis to produce evidence-based design patterns.

- Solvability: Are there proven solutions from mainstream apps?
- Nostr-specific: Does this require special consideration for Nostr’s architecture?
Process:
- Map user problems to UX failure points
- Cluster related problems into pattern categories
- Prioritize patterns by impact × frequency
- Validate patterns against academic HCI literature
- Test patterns against mainstream app best practices
3. Universal Principles Research
Objective: Ground each pattern in established UX research and industry best practices.

Objective: Understand how Nostr’s architecture creates unique UX challenges and opportunities.

Research Limitations & Biases

1. Data Availability
- Nostr analytics are limited compared to centralized platforms

2. Sample Bias
- Early Nostr users are bleeding-edge early adopters and may not represent mainstream users

- Limited longitudinal data (protocol is <3 years old)
